Panasonic’s ES2218VC, better known as the Women’s Close Curves shaver has a fair amount to offer at an exceptionally reasonable price. You can use it for shaves in the shower or on the spot any time, anywhere, regardless of whether one is soaking wet or completely dry.
The quad-blade hypoallergenic stainless steel design is firmly mounted on a pivoting head enabling the ES2218VC to follow every curve back and forward. This combination ensures the closest possible shave short of breaking out a traditional razor. Those discerning consumers looking for the most accurate cuts in the most sensitive of places will be glad to know that a hidden bikini trimmer can extend to handle such challenges with aplomb thanks to the intuitively adjustable precision settings.
The included travel pouch and AC charger might be an important consideration to ladies who are always constantly on the go, though neither is likely to fit in well with Prada or LV. Even better is the well above average 8-hour charge time and included indicator status light. With a charge lasting this long it is unlikely that one will find themselves needing a recharge even on the longest of vacations.
As with all electric shavers the ES2218VC is not perfect. Cased in a rugged but elegant plastic shell coated in a thin soft layer of colored plastic, the ES2218VC is imminently portable and can stand a reasonable amount of accidental punishment but it is not indestructible. Better yet, it is nearly silent, which is ideal for women that don’t want to let the entire world know that it is once again time to shave.
Our Opinion
On the subject of shaving, the overall shave offered by the ES2218VC is quite good for an electric shaver, especially one designated as a mid-range model, but almost all electric shavers are generally considered to be inferior to that of a traditional razor. Of course, the trade offs between electric and traditional razors are that the traditional razors can only be effectively used in certain times (typically for longer periods of time) and places and are no longer travel friendly for anyone taking a flight or cruise.
