When a moustache trim just isn't enough

Shaving a moustache properly requires more than just shaving cream and any old razor. With the right tools, getting rid of your moustache will be quick and simple and leave you with soft, smooth skin.
- The first step in shaving your moustache is to wet the moustache with some warm water, adding a little conditioner if your hair is very thick. If you use conditioner, wash it out and allow it to dry before continuing.
- Next, trim the moustache to a short length. This can be done with scissors or a good electric razor. You can read electric razor reviews to make sure you're getting one that's good at trimming moustaches, and a model that's also good with all beard styles.
- After you've trimmed your moustache, apply your favorite shaving cream to the area. Use one with moisturizers if you have dry skin. Vitamin E and aloe vera can also help prevent razor burn and rough skin.
- After the shaving cream has settled in, choose the right type of razor. Don't use a cheap disposable razor; these can pull and nick the sensitive skin on your face. Instead, choose a razor with 3 or more blades. These remove the hair of your moustache more effectively and avoid the pain of a cheap razor.
- To remove the rest of your moustache, shave in the opposite direction than the hair grows. Apply very little pressure to your skin to avoid irritation and nicks. Also rinse your razor blade under warm water after every stroke to make sure your shave is smooth.
- After you remove your moustache, rinse your skin and remove what's left. Use cold water to close your pores. This also helps many men prevent razor burn. If you have sensitive skin, try rubbing after shave cream or oil on the area to prevent razor burn and irritation.
Many men consider many options to get rid of their moustaches, including laser hair removal. With a proper razor and a good technique, however, this may not be necessary.
