How to Shave (for him)>

How To Shave Your Head

26 May 2009

Understanding how to shave your head is not complicated at all. It is a step by step process that can be performed quite easily. In fact, even someone who is a novice at cutting his own hair learn how to have his head with little practice.

The process for how to shave your head is simple:

  1. If you have moderate or long hair you will need to reduce the length. An electric razor will have trouble cutting long hair. As such, it is necessary to cut the hair with hairdresser scissors prior to using your clippers.
  2. Once your hair is of moderate length, you will need to use electric clippers with a “zero” blade. A zero blade will cut your hair as close to the scalp as possible. There will, however, be at least a quarter inch of hair on your head remaining.
  3. Lathering up your scalp with shaving cream is the next step. This will make the use of the razor much more tolerable. It will also act as a guide so that you do not miss spots.
  4. The final step in how to shave your head involves running a razor across the remaining hair. A straight razor is commonly employed although traditional beard razors, electric razors, and roller based razors have been used as well. It may be necessary to use a hand held mirror and align it with your bathroom mirror in order to avoid missing any spots.Worse case scenario, you can always ask a friend, partner, or college roomate.

Again, this is a simple process that can be “mastered” after performing one or two times. Afterward, you can definitely save on barber costs since you will know how to shave your head yourself.
