It is hard to argue that, these days especially, cleanliness is Godliness. This rings especially true if you are working in the professional sector. On a typical day, you have to expect that you will be dealing with multiple clients, whose business may or may not depend on something as seemingly superficial as your physical appearance). If you have a beard, mustache or other style of facial hair, you have to be all the more careful when grooming your appearance. This is why learning how to shave is a lifelong skill that you should spend time mastering.
Beards can be very hard to care for. When trimming a beard, make sure to shave off any spots that are still bare on your face, such as on the cheeks. These will just hamper your appearance. Be sure to trim a clean line on your face along your beard, neatly trimming your mustache while you are at it.
It is crucially important that you learn to shave your neck and keep it clean if you decide to grow and care for a beard. A neck full of straggly hairs can be one of the most unattractive features imaginable, and will certainly detract from the quality of your beard. Be sure to trim your neck daily, focusing your efforts on any stray hairs that may be growing out of control. Just like when you shave your cheeks, be sure to create a clean line around the top of the neck (where it meets the chin). This will help to give your beard definition.
The most important part of learning how to shave is learn the lesson that it is important that you keep up with it. If you decide to shave for a month or so and then just stop, you are undoing all of the good that you've done for your face. Shaving not only cuts down on excess hair, but it keeps the skin smooth and less prone to breakouts. Make it a priority to shave daily if you are going to grow a beard. Otherwise, you may end up growing an uncontrollable nest of hair on your face - and no one wants that!
Overall, remember to pay attention to your razor while using it and you'll be fine! And with that, you have just learned how to shave.
