aka... How to shave 'down there'
24 May 2009
Whether for a special beach party or important night time event, sometimes it's important to have your hair in a certain sensitive area removed. While it may be intimidating at first to learn how to shave your pubic hair, you'll soon learn that it's easy to do and something that will soon become second nature.
- The first step to shaving your pubic hair is simply to get a good shaving cream or gel. It's best to use something all natural and appropriate for such a sensitive area. If you use abrasive or male shaving creams, you may end up feeling a burn or itch. Try products just for women.
- Choose a razor that is of good quality. The cheap, disposable razors will do a bad job and are easier to make mistakes (which would be painful in this area, especially). An electric razor is a very good choice. Electric razors end up paying for themselves in the long run, anyway, since they last longer. Electric razor reviews are fairly easy to come by.
- Trim the pubic hairs before you shave them. That's an important step when learning how to shave down there as it not only makes it easier to get a clean shave, but it also encourages you to be a bit more creative and have fun with a personal style. Go ahead get creative. And remember, just as some women prefer different beard styles in men, some men may prefer different ways of achieving the look you want in this area. Some women prefer a simple trim, patterns (landing strips, hearts, etc., while others find that they (and their partners) want to shave it all off.
- Treat yourself to some spa treatments just before you decide to start the shave. Relax in the sauna, then take a soak in the jacuzzi. Your body needs to relax prior to shaving.
- Now this is the big and important step: decide if you are going to shave down there or your partner is. My word of advice: let him watch. It is too sensitive an area and unstable, excited hands could be painful.
- Apply the shaving gel or creams. Start to shave soon after. Don't rush. If you make mistakes, you can hurt yourself. Take the time to do it right.
- Wash your pubic area with your normal soap and water. You want to then immediately moisturize the area as it can get itchy right away. Your body is not used to these sensations, most likely.
- Use a mirror and feel around to see if you've gotten everything and enjoy the new you.
Aside from doing laser hair removal, this is the best choice for removing your pubic hair. Enjoy.
