How to Shave Your Legs

27 May 2009

Through trial and error, many women have perfected the skill of the daily leg shave, eventually minimizing razor burn and cuts. There is no need, however, for you to learn the hard way how to shave your legs so that you get a close shave and soft legs. Follow these simple steps to shave your legs:

  • Allow the warm water of your shower to moisten your legs.
  • Turn the water away, and prop your foot up.
  • Lather up with your favorite scented shaving cream or body wash. If you have sensitive skin, buy accordingly. There are lots of products specifically designed to help minimize irritation.
  • Start at your foot, and work your way up your lower leg. Use slow strokes to help avoid burn. Your strokes should start at the bottom and come up.
  • Rinse your blade between each stroke for the closest shave.
  • Carefully shave your knee using different directions while it is in a bent position and continue up your thigh.
  • Shave the back of your thigh using different directional strokes.
  • Straighten your leg and shave your knee carefully again.
  • Rinse well with warm water.
  • Once you are out of the shower, dry legs well and allow a few minutes for skin to relax after your shower.
  • Apply lotion liberally.
  • For the closest shave, immediately after applying lotion use your razor gently again for any small missed spots.
  • Rinse blade well to avoid buildup.
